Derby, Derbyshire – 1st September 2009: Soutron Limited, a long established supplier of library automation systems for corporate and special libraries, has announced abrand new version of SoutronGLOBAL, Soutron's ILS software for special library automation. Version 3 is a powerhouse of functionality and flexibility. There has been a rigorous QA and testing period lasting many months leading up to this release. The release has been soft-tested at clients all summer and is to make its appearance in September with systems being implemented at two major clients.
The system is everything a special librarian needs: it has flexibility, it's very easy to use, has very streamlined functionality and offers a great look and feel. SoutronGLOBAL incorporates functionality for Cataloguing, Thesaurus management, Opac, Loans, Serials, Acquisitions, Reports, Loose-Leaf, Enquiry Management, Self Issue, Database Design and System Configuration, XML Output.
September also sees the release of a brand new Library Automation product, SoutronSOLO which is designed for smaller libraries who want ease of use and simplicity.
The two products share the same core technologies but are designed for different organisational needs.
SoutronSOLO is ready to use "out of the box" for a small library where the goal is to make a catalogue easily accessible with the minimum of effort for the library.
SoutronGLOBAL is a fully featured scalable system for multiple libraries in a large organisation where integration with third party applications is necessary and fast efficient workflows are needed.
A number of companies have already selected SoutronGLOBAL for their new library management system, including EUROCONTROL and The Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport (UK).
