SIMS, another system with a medical library background

Library Systems Newsletter [September 1983]

The Sedna Corporation, based in St. Paul, is offering a turnkey library automated system which has its origins in the system developed for the University of Minnesota Biomedical Library. Configured on a DEC PDP/11 the system uses a specially developed operating system and offers a MARC-compatible record structure. It currently supports cataloging-with offline OCLC and MARC tape interfaces-acquisitions and serials management modules. Limited online patron access catalog capabilities are available. Pricing is dependent on the size of the system, but a minimum configuration might come in at under $50,000.
