Ex Libris of Israel has opened an office in London to serve the United Kingdom and Ireland. The announcement came shortly after the company won an award from King's College and one year after the company opened offices in Germany and the United States. Ex Libris has had an office in Luxemburg for some time and there are distributors in several other countries.
ALEPH, Ex Libris' automated library system, is now installed at over 400 libraries in 34 countries, making the company the most international of any vendor in the industry. Recently signed customers include The Royal Library of Sweden, Universitd Paris III, the Cape Library Cooperative of South Africa, the Universidade Estadual Paulista of Brazil, and the Austrian Federal Ministry for Science and Transport--the last on behalf of the National Library of Austria and 23 academic libraries.
