Starting September 16th 2002 DILITES (Digital Library Technology and Services) have become the supplier of LIBERO, the integrated library system of LIB-IT GmbH Bibliotheks EDV-Systeme, for Belgium, the Netherlands and Luxemburg.
Aart Nieuwland has founded DILITES, and will focus on consultancy, sales and
implementation of software for libraries, museums, archives etc. Aart has over 20 years of experience with information services and library software companies, the past 6 years he has been Managing Director of a library supplier.
LIB-IT GmbH (Pleidelsheim, Germany) announced LIBERO in 1996. Currently over 300 organisations/libraries in Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Italy, the Netherlands, Great Britain, Slovakia, Portugal and Australia have installed LIBERO as their digital information system.
LIBERO is the digital, integrated information system catering for all types of (public, scientific, university, special, corporate) libraries of any size, from one single workstation with several thousands of titles up to networked libraries implementing multiple servers and hundreds of terminals, and multi-million title catalogues.
A user friendly online parameter module permits libraries to flexibly tailor LIBERO to their own needs. LIBERO is offering open interfaces, a full context sensitive help function, and is easy to use. The well tested and proven technical design guarantees data integrity and performs excellently on all conventional standard platforms (Windows NT/2000, Linux, IBM AIX, Sun Solaris).
LIBERO has additional modules which are fully integrated with its WebOPAC, e.g. CD-ROM applications, CANAL linguistic analysis software, NetVue for digital media, LIBERO OpenSearch portal software, as well as interfaces for self service stations. is giving each library all the functionality it needs to cater for a complete service to its patrons in the modern era of information, communication and knowledge technology.
