Abstract: Geac Library Systems announced its partnership with EnvisionWare, Inc., enabling Geac to resell EnvisionWare applications for print cost management, desktop menu control and PC reservation software.

MARKHAM, ONT - July 2, 2002 - Geac Library Systems, a division of Geac Computer Corporation Limited (TSX: GAC), today announced its partnership with market leader EnvisionWare, Inc., enabling Geac to resell EnvisionWare applications for print cost management, desktop menu control and PC reservation software. Strategically expanding the Library Systems Division's total solution public service offerings through alliances with best-of-breed solution providers, Geac(R) is pleased to be working with this growing company and its talented team.

The combined synergy of EnvisionWare's exceptional product suite and development methodology with Geac's strong project management team and industry recognized global support organization produces a full-featured, high ROI solution for libraries. An investment in Geac-EnvisionWare product groups will markedly enhance the end-user experience.

Launch Command(R) unifies patron access to a wide variety of desktop and network-based resources through an enterprise browser-based "one-stop" menu. It also provides application metering to manage resource session licenses and to generate reports on utilization, which helps a library assess the value of specific resources to users.

LPT:One(TM) allows a library to introduce mechanisms for cost recovery from which the savings may then be used to fund library initiatives. The ability for the end user to cancel print jobs when presented with job costs is a feature that alone can result in a 50% reduction in printing and can significantly reduce print waste.

PC Reservation(TM) aims to minimize patron frustration by providing equitable access to PCs; maximize library staff time to help patrons with their information needs; and, backed by customer testimonials, alleviate the stress that is otherwise experienced with the management of public PC workstations.

States Bryan Sands, Information Technology Manager, Pasadena Public Library, "Since introducing PC Reservation in our Central Library, we have found a significant reduction in noise levels and frantic activity resulting in a more calm and productive environment for patrons and staff alike."

Ross McLachlan, Library Services Administrator at Phoenix Public Library says, "Staff intervention in the PC booking process has dropped significantly, allowing us to concentrate substantially more time on responding to patrons' real information needs. Our staff are happier. They are returning to the tasks they have been trained to do."

"Geac has an enviable 30+ year history in the library automation market," comments Mike Monk, Vice President, Marketing, EnvisionWare Inc. "Their clear commitment over this time to delivering high quality solutions to customers makes them a compelling and strong partner. In particular, their reputation for exceptional customer support enhances our capabilities to provide a low stress, easily maintainable, easily installable software solution."

Jon Brooks, Managing Director of Geac's worldwide Libraries Systems Division, explains: "EnvisionWare is a forward thinking, progressive company that anticipates key trends in the library industry and responds by swiftly bringing niche products to market. They are exactly the kind of partner with whom Geac aligns itself. In today's varied information environment, a successful company creates strategic alliances with innovative third-party solution providers to further enrich and enhance core products. Furthermore, by selecting solutions that adhere to industry standards, we ensure interoperability across varied application platforms and, most importantly, we ensure backward and forward compatibility as our own

customers move forward with our next generation library management system." Adds Mr. Brooks, "The combined strengths of our two companies will provide an unprecedented package solution for PC booking and print cost management software to libraries."
