Abstract: Serials Solutions and Endeavor Information Systems announced a working relationship that will allow mutual clients to easily transfer and integrate data between their respective content management systems.

Seattle, WA and Des Plaines, IL May 9, 2002: Serials Solutions and Endeavor Information Systems announced a working relationship that will allow mutual clients to easily transfer and integrate data between their respective content management systems.

Libraries utilizing the OPAC of Endeavor's Voyager integrated library management system and Serials Solutions' electronic serials reports may now easily include data from their Voyager system into their Serials Solutions reports. This will provide libraries with customized and unbiased reports that display all the full-text serials available at their institution, regardless of format, including content from database aggregators, publishers, and subscription agents. .

Prior to this arrangement, libraries could include print holdings in their Serials Solutions reports, but the work of extracting the data could be time-consuming, and linking to specific holdings in a Voyager OPAC was not yet available. Endeavor's recently released technology makes this reporting and linking easy for librarians.

The University of Richmond was the first to employ this technology, and contributed to its development. "We appreciate the University of Richmond's support in this project. Their contributions ensure we collect and transfer the most useful data. Every library that uses both Endeavor Voyager and Serials Solutions can benefit from these enhancements," commented Timothy Granquist, Director of Library Relations for Serials Solutions. "Endeavor's work on this project makes transferring and linking this data much easier for libraries."

Libraries that employ software from Endeavor and subscribe to Serials Solutions may access the recently released technology resources from Serials Solutions' Library Resource Center or Endeavor's customer support website at no charge.

"Endeavor has always believed in building open systems that allow our library customers the flexibility to work with new technologies," commented Jim Miesse, Director of Product Delivery and Quality. "Because Voyager is designed with a truly relational database, all information is easily accessible with just a simple SQL. We are happy to help make this information available so all Voyager customers can now easily pull their information from the Voyager database and send their valuable serial collection data to Serials Solutions."
