Abstract: The Maury County Public Library (TN) has selected the Polaris integrated library system to be the library''s first automation system

Syracuse, NY (April 23, 2002) - The Maury County Public Library (TN) has selected the Polaris integrated library system to be the library's first automation system. GIS also will perform a full retrospective conversion of the library's shelflist cards to create the electronic database for Polaris. Maury County is the 40th customer to select Polaris and the first library in Tennessee to install Polaris.

Located in Columbia, TN about 30 miles south of Nashville the library serves a population of 130,000 from one main library. Although GIS is new to Elizabeth Potts, Director, Gaylord as a company is not. Elizabeth, who has been with Maury County for her entire career, says she has been a Gaylord customer for years. Commenting on her decision to automate with Polaris she said, "Gaylord has taken care of her for all those years, and she knows Gaylord will take care of her in the future".
