Ex Libris (USA) is very pleased to announce that Brandeis University has awarded a contract to Ex Libris (USA) for the implementation of DigiTool, as their digital asset management system.
With a format- and protocol-independent design, consistent search interface of all collections, (print and digital), and authentication methods (including copyright-related reports), DigiTool will provide a comprehensive answer for Brandeis's digital initiatives and asset management both now and in the future.
"Our DigiTool product provides a structure to deliver digital collections, while managing licensing, access control, and copyright issues," said Carl Grant, President of Ex Libris (USA). "DigiTool's format and protocol-independent design enable all libraries to share their information. Researchers can find what they need, while librarians have both the freedom and control of their resources."
"We are excited to be implementing the DigiTool software module as part of our Institute of Museum and Library Services Grant Project" said Susan Wawrzaszek, Librarian for Administrative Services and Information Systems at Brandeis University. "Our project is pushing the limits of the integrated library system and digital image software to create a new kind of research tool for students and scholars across the world. The DigiTool software and the ALEPH 500 system are giving us the opportunity to expand access to our rare and fragile special resources."
