DES PLAINES, ILLINOIS, USA ľ Nov. 6, 2001: Endeavor Information Systems announced Robert Lobascio joined the company recently as Vice President of Sales. Lobascio will manage Endeavor's North American and International sales efforts for the Voyager integrated library management system and ENCompass system for managing, searching and linking digital collections.
"There is a rising level of excitement and opportunity in the library industryŚwe see major changes occurring in the next few years and it is our role as a company to facilitate and make these changes positive for research libraries," Lobascio explained. "The change is in an early enough state where there are a lot of claims, a lot of taglines and noiseŚno one has truly introduced an end to end solution to the degree that Endeavor's products allow."
Lobascio brings 18 years of publishing experience from Commerce Clearing House (CCH), subsidiary of Wolters Kluwer, a familiar resource publisher of federal and state tax and law information materials. At CCH, Lobascio held a variety of high level sales positions, which included VP of Sales for software Business Units and ending his time there as General Sales Manager.
"From working through the various evolutions that took place in publishing, I can better understand libraries' current needs," Lobascio explained. "There was complete change in the publishing industry and we held the sales organization responsible for helping the customer through that. We moved from purveyors of content to agents of changeŚand I plan to use that experince in my role at Endeavor."
Most recently Vice President of Sales for PLANLINX, a Chicago-area ASP for Web-based self-directed healthcare, Lobascio brings experience in working with fast-paced companies like Endeavor. Lobascio has worked in systems design and sales and marketing roles at Burroughs Corporation, a derivitive company of UNISYS.
"Endeavor is very pleased to have Bob with us to share his experience, vision and leadership with our talented sales professionals, our established Voyager and ENCompass customers and the organizations that are just learning about our intuitive systems," stated Jane Burke, Endeavor President and CEO.
