July 2001. SIMA announces SIMA Camelot, a complete Integrated Library System for medium-sized and small law libraries. SIMA Camelot includes everything law librarians need to automate their libraries in one package, including Acquisitions, Accounting, Bar Coding, Catalog, Circulation, Mail Check-in, Routing, Serials and Utilities.
SIMA library programs, popular among discriminating librarians for years, have been acclaimed by customers for their ease of use, many features and high value. Now SIMA offers librarians a new-generation Integrated Library System with capabilities not previously available and enhancements suggested by users of SIMA library programs. SIMA Camelot software enables librarians to totally automate their libraries. SIMA will continue to offer and support its stand-alone SIMA Serials/Acquisitions/Accounting 2000 and SIMA ILL 2000 programs.
"As a leader in the library-automation market, we are excited about bringing this sophisticated yet easy-to-use library software to librarians who are ready to improve their library automation or start automating a totally manual library," said Sima Dabirashtiani, law librarian and director/general manager of SIMA. "Some librarians will want the full SIMA Camelot Integrated Library System ... others will start with just the SIMA Camelot Catalog, and then add SIMA Camelot capabilities such as Serials and Circulation as their libraries grow and their needs increase," she added.
SIMA Camelot will be demonstrated at the July 2001 meeting of the American Association of Law Libraries in Minneapolis. Since SIMA is an Application Service Provider of SIMA library programs, SIMA Camelot may be accessed and run via the Internet with a subscription to SIMAnet.
