August 9, 2001— Innovative Interfaces, a leader in information technology for libraries, announced the appointment of two new Product Managers: Barbara Vance and Beth Hoffmann. Innovative’s Product Managers work with Product Development, Operations, and Sales on new products and product support.
Vance, who holds an MLS from San Jose State University, will be Innovative’s Circulation Product Manager. Vance comes to Innovative with technology experience and a strong library background, having held positions at Sageware, Inc., and Santa Clara City Library.
"I am thrilled to be working again with the circulation process after time as a reference librarian and system administrator for an Innovative library," said Vance. "I hope to continue Innovative’s history of providing easy-to-use circulation tools and facilitate the ongoing refinements of this critical and complex product."
Hoffmann, who has been an integral part of Innovative’s Product Development Department since 1995, will oversee System Internationalization. Prior to Innovative, she worked at a software consulting firm for fifteen years in programming, customer support, and training. Hoffmann also has an MLS from UC Berkeley.
"I am excited about working full-time on systems internationalization, something that was also a part of my duties as Product Analyst in Innovative’s Product Development Department. In this position, I have the opportunity to focus on the ’big picture’ and evaluate how Innovative can better serve both our international customers when presenting the Millennium system in other languages and our English-speaking clients, who may have bibliographic data in multiple languages and alphabets," said Hoffmann.
Vance and Hoffmann join an experienced and energetic group led by Betsy Graham, Director of Product Management. The department also includes Product Managers Claudia Conrad, Laurie Davidson, Ted Fons, John McCullough, and Systems Librarians Roger Andre, Belden Lyman, and Cynthia Price.
