The Information Network for Ontario has chosen VDX from FD Inc. to provide them with seamless access to information. This will enable them to be the single point of access to print and electronic resouces for 325 public libraries across the state.
VDX offers Ontario patrons a friendly web interface for the searching of multiple resources including virtual union catalogs, local integrated library systems and both free and fee based resources - this enables them to have access to "anything, anywhere."
The decision to choose VDX was taken after a fully competitive search. Barbara Franchetto, Director of Resources for the Southern Ontario Library Service explains their decision: "FD Inc. met all of our mandatory requirements with VDX. It is a product that is intuitive, easy to use, logical and also fully supports interlibrary loan workflow through the use of simple attractive screens. It also fully supports patron initiated ILL and fully supports the complexity of the ISO ILL protocol."
