Woburn, MA - Inmagic, Inc.'s consulting division announces the release of of its new consulting product, the InfoCart. Enabling workflow efficiencies for both library staff and end-users, the InfoCart can be customized and incorporated into Inmagic's core DB/Text WebPublisher products: DB/Text WebPublisher and DB/Text WebPublisher Lite.
“Much like the online shopping carts found at most online stores, the InfoCart allows users the ability to save the results of a catalog search so that item references can be grouped and stored for later retrieval”, explains Kevin Rourke, head of Inmagic's consulting services division. “Individual selections can be processed as a group of items, providing workflow efficiencies for both users and library staff.”
A customizable consulting product developed directly from the requests of WebPublisher customers; the InfoCart has drawn favorable customer comments. “We are looking to Inmagic's InfoCart to add the final level of true interactivity to out site”, explains Jessica Chaiken of the National Rehabilitation Information Center (NARIC). Adds Linda Jordan of the Federation of State Medical Boards, “The InfoCart is a great way to provide users the ability to manage a Web based catalog search. It saves time and effort because they can access the saved set without doing the search all over again.”
Inmagic's InfoCart is one of three new consulting products which mark the beginning of an ever-expanding suite of consulting services designed to help library staff and their end-users speed workflow and reduce costs.
Also announced is an Email Request System that allows users to request items via email directly from the online catalog. Comparable to a drive-through window at a fast food restaurant, the system allows users searching for one or two items to request the item the moment they find it.
The Save Password system allows users to save passwords to the local PC so that they need not retype their passwords each time they return to the login page. “It's a very convenient item”, explains Rourke.
