Omani University to Use AMICUS System

Abstract: Extended Library Access Solutions announced that the Sultan Quaboos University of Oman will be the first library to use the Arabic version of AMICUS, its library management system.


Extended Library Access Solutions (ELiAS has announced that the Sultan Quaboos University of Oman will be the first library to use the Arabic version of AMICUS, its library management system.

The university will use the Arabic AMICUS client in all four of its campus university libraries. The entire AMICUS library suite, including searching, cataloging, circulation, serial control, acquistions, products, and client services, is available in an Arabic graphical user interface.

The Sultan Quaboos was founded in 1986 and is the only university in Oman. Its library serves 8,000 students and has a collection of 150,000 items, including more than 5,000 audiovisual materials.
