Openly to support Onix XML standard: LinkBaton book database pushes book catalogs onto the Web

Bloomfield, New Jersey - December 19, 2000 - Openly Informatics, Inc. (www.openly.com) today announced its support for the ONIX XML standard for book information.

Openly's LinkBaton system helps publishers push their book catalogs onto the web. LinkBaton includes a database of over one million items, browsable by ISBN. Indexing robots from search engines such as Google, Northern Light, Alta Vista, Inktomi and Excite crawling the LinkBaton database constantly, and over 100,000 users from all over the world have used its catalog. Publishers can enhance their internet presence, and thus their sales, by submitting catalogs in XML format. Openly Informatics has joined with Adobe Systems , Amazon.com, BarnesandNoble.com, BookSense, Bowker, Cambridge University Press, Columbia University Press, Houghton Mifflin, Baker & Taylor, Ingram Book Company, Library of Congress, McGraw-Hill, MUZE, OCLC, Paladin Press, Time-Warner Trade Publishing , John Wiley and many others to support the ONIX XML standard.
