Abstract: Brodart announces a partnership with Syndetic Solutions. This affiliation will allow Brodart Automation to offer more advanced bibliographic information than ever before, including cover images and Tables of Contents. Scanned cover images are a useful visual aid to the reader''s online browsing experience, and in some instances, a natural way of identifying titles that were seen and remembered elsewhere. And when it will assist in a fuller understanding of a title, Table of Content information is captured from publisher catalogs, advance information, or the book itself, and can be offered for the patrons convenience in the cataloguing system.

Brodart is pleased to announce their partnership with Syndetic Solutions. In order to continue to stay on the cutting edge of technology, and to better reflect the changes in technology and the library community, Brodart has recently formed several important business alliances. This most recent affiliation will allow Brodart Automation to offer more advanced bibliographic information than ever before, including cover images and Tables of Contents. Scanned cover images are a useful visual aid to the reader's online browsing experience, and in some instances, a natural way of identifying titles that were seen and remembered elsewhere. And when it will assist in a fuller understanding of a title, Table of Content information is captured from publisher catalogs, advance information, or the book itself, and can be offered for the patrons convenience in the cataloguing system.

Syndetic Solutions serves a unique and vital role within the publishing and book selling community. Acting as a centralized collection and distribution center for "content data" for books currently in print, Syndetics serves both booksellers and publishers alike by consolidating and standardizing data formats, and by providing the most cost efficient method of both gathering and disseminating the data for the widest audiences possible.

Brodart Co. entered the field of library automation in 1975 with the introduction of COM catalogs and computer-based bibliographic maintenance. Three decades as a library vendor guided Brodart in answering the expanding needs of libraries. New products and services are continually developed in response to customer suggestions and requests. Brodart Automation, as a division of Brodart Co., continues in that tradition. Their technical development team investigates new technologies available to the library community incorporating them into products that benefit customers.
