DUBLIN, Ireland (November 2000) The Regional Library and Information Service of the Eastern Regional Health Authority has chosen SIRSI's Unicorn Library Management System.
Unicorn will be installed under the NT operating system and will provide access via WorkFlows to cataloguing, authority control, circulation, acquisitions, and serials control. Access to collections and public services will be via the WebCat Online Public Access Catalog over an in-house Intranet and plans are in place to enable full Internet access in the future. In addition, the Knowledge Portal module will provide library staff and end-users with access to remote Z39.50 services from within WebCat.
The Regional Library and Information Service of the Eastern Regional Health Authority provides library services to a number of locations, including the Regional Library and Information Unit of Dr. Steevens Hospital, the St. Ita's Hospital Library, the St. Brendan's Hospital Library, the St. Columcille's Hospital Library, the Naas General Hospital Library, and the medical and nursing libraries of James Connolly Memorial Hospital.
