Minneapolis, MN. October 11, 2000. Sagebrush Corporation, a solutions provider for the library and education markets, has been named to the 2000 Minnesota Technology Fast 50, a ranking of the 50 fastest-growing technology companies in the area. Rankings are based on the percentage of growth in revenues from 1995–1999 (five-year period).
Sagebrush's acting CEO Jim Zicarelli credits the company's customer focus and comprehensive product line with the company's 1175 percent revenue growth over the past five years. He said, "Our mission here is simple: Sagebrush Corporation exists to serve the education market, providing the books, technology, and services that help kids learn. We're pleased that we've been so successful in fulfilling our mission that we can be a part of the Fast 50."
"To make it into the Fast 50 is not an easy thing to do, and we at Deloitte & Touche congratulate Sagebrush Corporation for that achievement," said Ron Hafner, Deloitte & Touche partner in charge of the Minnesota Fast 50."
Sagebrush's increase in revenues of 1175 percent over the five-year period of 1995 to 1999 resulted in a 10th-place ranking overall in the Fast 50 for Minnesota. The average increase in revenues among companies who made the Fast 50 for this region was 842 percent, and increase over last year's average of 683 percent.
To qualify for the Fast 50, companies must have had revenues of at least $50,000 in 1995; be public or private companies headquartered in the region; and be "technology companies" defined as a company that produces technology, manufactures a technology product, is technologically intensive, uses technology in problem-solving, or devotes a high percentage of effort to research and development of technology. Criteria are the same for the Rising Star category, with the exception that 1997 revenues must be at least $50,000.
Winners of the 21 regional Fast 50 programs in the United States are automatically entered in the Deloitte & Touche Technology Fast 500 program, which ranks the nation's top 500 fastest-growing technology companies.
