Jay A. Stead
President & CEO
Jay Stead joined Sagebrush Corporation in February. 1999 as President & CEO of the company. Prior to joining Sagebrush, Stead was Group Vice-President of Marketing and Business Development for the Business Systems Division of Reynolds and Reynolds, a Fortune 1000 provider of information management systems. In this position, Stead was responsible for overall product and marketing management, business development (induding acquisitions), and business planning. During his tenure at Reynolds and Reynolds, division sales inaeased over 400% and profits were up tenfold with an industry-leading return on equity. Previously. Stead was a Senior Engagement Manager for McKinsey & Company, a management consulting firm with offices worldwide. While there, he developed business unit and marketing strategies for several key clients. Stead holds a BS in Industrial Management from Purdue University, Krannert School of Management and a Masters in Management from Northwestern University, Kellogg Graduate School of Management.
Senior Vice President, Technology Solutions
Al Bennett brings wide-ranging technology expertise and extensive management experience to the company. Bennett joined Winnebago Software in 1999 following nine years with the sales force software developer Clear With Computers, Inc., where he held posts induding Vice President of Operations and Chief Operating Officer. Prior to that, he held positions in software development with Hughes Aircraft and Boeing. Bennett holds a degree in computer science and a master's degree in business administration from the University of ashington, Seattle.
Director of Major Accounts
Carol Blagsvedt, joined Winnebago Software in 1988. Blagsvedt brings years of valuable customer service experience to her current position. Her responsibilities over a decade-plus with Winnebago have induded serving as Vice President of Marketing where she was responsible for Marketing Research, Training, and Marketing Communications Departments and Vice President of Customer Services, where she directed all customer support and education services. Blagsvedt holds degrees in business management and psychology from Luther College, Decorah, Iowa.
D. Bruce Butler
President, Sagebrush Ventures
Prior to his appointment as President of Sagebrush Ventures, Bruce Butler led Sagebrush Technologies (formerly Nichols Advanced Technologies) since its inception in 1983. During that time, the company experienced significant growth and established itself as one of the premier providers of library management systems in the world. Prior to founding Nichols Advanced Technologies, Butler was a partner at Nichols Applied Management, an Edmonton, Alberta-based management consulting firm. Butler holds a Bachelor of Science in Computing Science and a Master of Science in Management Science from the University of Alberta.
Vice President of Marketing, Sagebrush Technologies
Mark Hammer joined Sagebrush Technologies (formerly Nichols Advanced Technologies) in 1996. As Vice President of Marketing, Hammer has successfully developed marketing and sales strategies that led to unprecedented profitable growth for the division. In addition to spearheading marketing efforts, Hammer has developed sales initiatives and served as Vice President of Sales for Sagebrush Technologies. Hammer has extensive experience in the technology and education markets including nearly 6 years in the library automation industry. He earned his BA degree from University of Kansas, and his Masters degree from the University of Texas in San Antonio.
Vice President, Human Resources
Nancy Manna, who joined Sagebrush Corporation in June, 1999 brings nearly 20 years of management and human resources experience to the company. Prior to joining Sagebrush, Manna was with Silicon Graphics. Inc. (SGI), where she directed Human Resources for the company's Computer Systems business unit. Previously, Manna was the Director of Human Resources for the Supercomputing Systems business unit of Cray Research until it was acquired in 1996 by SGI. Manna holds a BA in French from Hamline University, and a Master's in Human Development from St. Mary's.
Vice President, Operations
As Vice President of Operations for Sagebrush, David Lindley leads the operations function for the company, optimizing Sagebrush Corporation resources and supporting sales and mark~ting initiatives. Prior to joining Sagebrush Corporation in 1999, Lindley was the Director of Manufacturing for Stouse Inc. Previously. Lindley was the VP/General Manager for the Western Division of Sealright Corporation. Lindley holds an Industrial Engineering Degree from Kansas State University as well as an MBA from the University of Louisville.
Director of Marketing, Sagebrush Learning Resources
Since joining Sagebrush Learning Resources in 1995, John Martin has been responsible for long term strategic planning and growth of the Sagebrush Learning Resources division and managed the day to day operations of the marketing department. Prior to joining Sagebrush, Martin was the Sales and Marketing Manager for Capstone Press, Inc. where he handled the development, marketing, and sales of Capstone tides and developed a high/low product line for the company. Martin holds a BA in English from St. John's University in Minnesota.
Vice President of Sales, Sagebrush Technologies
Jim Petersen joined Winnebago Software in 1997, bringing more than 25 years' technology-related experience with companies inducing Xerox, National Information Systems, and Ergotron, Inc. As Winnebago's Executive Vice President, Petersen worked with the sales and marketing departments with a focus on increasing effectiveness and efficiency. supporting the professional sales staff and better serving customers.
Suzanne N. Riesterer
CFO and Corporate Secretary
Suzanne (Suzy) Riesterer joined Sagebrush as Chief Financial Officer in April 1998. Riesterer comes to Sagebrush from Jostens Inc., where she was President of the Retail Jewelry Division. Previously, Riesterer served Jostens as Director of Finance for the $400 million Scholastic and Recognition Division. Before joining Jostens. Riesterer served as Manager in the Audit and Financial Consulting Division at Arthur Andersen & Co. Riesterer holds a BA in Business/Accounting from Augustana College in 1983 and a MBA with a concentration in Strategic Management from the University of Minnesota, Carlson School of Management.
Director of Sales & Marketing, Sagebrush Library Services
Mary Schneider joined Sagebrush Corporation in May 1998. As the Director of Sales & Marketing, Schneider is responsible for building and managing cross functional teams between sales, marketing. IS, and Operations for the Library Services Division. Prior to joining Sagebrush, Schneider was the Director of Program Development for The Zebulon Group. She has also served as Account Manager for Carlson Marketing Group and Product Manager for Performark, Inc. Schneider holds her B.A. in English from the University of Minnesota and is pursuing her MBA from the University of St. Thomas.
Vice President, National Accounts
Richard Tinder has been contributing to the success of Sagebrush Corporation for over 25 years. Currently, Tinder is Vice President, National Accounts for the Sagebrush Learning Resources division. Previously, Tinder held several key positions within the company inducing Vice President, Operations, and President, Econo-Clad Books. Tinder also served as President and Owner of Pro-Print, Inc., a commercial printing company. Tinder is also an active member of the publishing community, serving as a member of several key industry groups and on the board of directors for the Educational Paperback Association. Tinder holds a B.S. in Economics from Northwestern Oklahoma State University.
