Salt Lake City, Utah. Over 400 librarians, systems managers, staff, and other users of epixtech's Horizon library automation system attended the three-day Horizon Users Group Meeting held November 6 – 8 in Salt Lake City, Utah. The libraries in attendance ranged from large academic, public, school, consortia, special, and Application Service Provider customers from very small, specialized libraries.
Technical information at the conference focused on product direction, technical information and product demonstrations presented by product managers and Horizon customers.
"We received a great deal of positive feedback from our Horizon users," said Lana Porter, President and CEO of epixtech, inc. "Where there were problems, there were people who knew how to fix the problems, and where there were questions, there were people who knew how to answer the questions. It was interesting to hear the library directors, librarians, and staff members talk about what they had done in their particular libraries with the Horizon system and the unique capabilities some of them have developed. The group was particularly interested in the direction epixtech will be taking with Horizon Sunrise 6.0, when it will be available, and what the advantages will be to them."
