PROVO, UTAH—epixtech, inc., world leader in library automation software, has named Julian Critchfield as the new Chief Technology Officer and Vice President of Research and Development. Critchfield has a long history in this area, as he was most recently the Chief Technical Officer and Vice President of Development for HotData, Inc., located in Austin, Texas. He has also held positions with NewTek Incorporated, Reed Elseiver/Folio Corporation as well as Microsoft. Critchfield began his career at WordPerfect, where he was one of the development managers of WordPerfect for Windows 5.1/6.0, which was the largest revenue producer for WordPerfect Corporation.

Critchfield has extensive experience in all aspects of the design, development and delivery process of high-end software. In addition, he has hired, trained and organized complete development and customer support groups. He is an expert in strategic technologies as well as vendor partnerships. In his new role at epixtech, Critchfield will oversee the areas of Core and Emerging Technologies. He will immediately take responsibility for software architecture, project management, and production for all epixtech products.
