Des Plaines, Illinios, USA Oct. 18, 2000: Endeavor Information Systems was ranked the third fastest growing technology company in Chicago in Deloitte & Touche's prestigious "Fast 50" Program for Greater Chicagoland, a ranking of the 50 fastest growing technology companies in the area. Rankings are based on five-year revenue growth, from 1995-1999. The program is sponsored by Deloitte & Touche, in association with Kirkland and Ellis, Motorola Ventures, Kellogg Graduate School of Management, and the University of Chicago Graduate School of Business.
Jane Burke, Endeavor's President and CEO, credits many factors to the company's revenue growth over the past five years. "There are really multiple reasons for the success of Endeavor: our customers believe in Endeavor and Voyager and share their insights with other customers and prospects, we have a solid product that really does make a difference in the worklives of the people that use Voyager on a day-to-day basis, and our staff is dedicated, determined and creative -- they see the vision of where we can go to continue the Endeavor goal of 'access to information regardless of location or format.'"
"We are delighted to be the third fastest growing technology company in Greater Chicagoland," Burke continued. "Endeavor is a small company with extraordinary ideas and the people that can take action on those ideas, resulting in a smarter product, stronger revenues, and a beneficial outcome for our customers and our staff."
"Today, there are more than 22,000 technology companies in the United States, many of whom are competing for the same markets in the United States and worldwide. The Greater Chicagoland Fast 50 winners have proven that they can compete successfully by consistently delivering technological wonders," said Tim McCarty, Partner of Deloitte & Touche. "We at Deloitte & Touche commend Endeavor Information Systems for having the vision and determination to become one of the 50 fastest growing technology companies in Greater Chicagoland."
Endeavor was listed in Crain's Chicago Business as the eleventh largest software company in the Chicago area in the 2000 survey. Jane Burke, Endeavor's President and CEO, was inducted this year into the Chicago Area Entrepreneurship Hall of Fame. Endeavor was a finalist for the Chicago Software Association Enterprise Award in 1999 and is again nominated as a finalist for the November 2000 Chicago Software Association Enterprise Award. Endeavor was the winner of the KPMG Peat Marwick LLP Illinois High Tech Award in 1998.
To qualify for the Fast 50, companies must have had operating revenues of at least $50,000 in 1995 and $1,000,000 in 1999, must be a public or private company headquartered in Greater Chicagoland, and be a "technology company" defined as a company that produces technology, manufactures a technology product, or devotes a high percentage of effort to research and development technology.
Winners of the 21 regional Fast 50 programs in the United States are automatically entered in the Deloitte & Touche Technology Fast 500 program, which ranks the nation's top 500 fastest growing technology companies.
