Openly announces pricing for new linking service: Link.Openly Journal metadata service in trial operation

Abstract: Openly Informatics, Inc. announced pricing and availability for its Link.Openly journal metadata system. Link.Openly is a system which allows journal publishers to efficiently open their on-line journal offerings to "deep linking" while at the same time protecting their intellectual property.


Montclair, New Jersey - December 9, 1999 - Openly Informatics, Inc. (http://www.openly.com) today announced pricing and availability for its Link.Openly journal metadata system.

Link.Openly is a system which allows journal publishers to efficiently open their on-line journal offerings to "deep linking" while at the same time protecting their intellectual property.

The Link.Openly system is comprised of Java Software and internet services based on open data specifications.

Link.Openly Editor, an application for editing and publishing journal metadata, is available for free download from the Link.Openly website, http://www.openly.com/link.openly/

Deployment Licenses for Link.Openly XML Linker, and Link.Openly Calculator are included in the Link.Openly Package for Linkers, which has an introductory price of $1000 per year per workstation. The Package for Linkers includes access passwords for unlimited access to the Link.Openly Database Link.Openly Calculator is a software module for calculating URL's from standardized templates, while Link.Openly XML Linker, includes software which consumes and processes Link.Openly journal metadata. The introductory price is guaranteed for 3 years for publishers who also publish data in the Link.Openly Database. A 30% discount is available to libraries at educational institutions.
