Abstract: Openly Informatics, Inc. today announced the appointment of industry veteran Albert Simmonds as Vice President and Director of Business Development.


Openly Informatics, Inc. today announced the appointment of industry veteran Albert Simmonds as Vice President and Director of Business Development.

Simmonds has played key roles in the book and serials standards industry for over 15 years. From 1983 to 1998, Dr. Simmonds was Director of Standards and Development at RR Bowker, publisher of Books in Print and Ulrich's. While there, he managed the United States ISBN and SAN agencies, and served on numerous publishing industry standards committees. He is a Director of the National Information Standards Organization (NISO), is chair-person of the Product Data Committee of the Book and Serials Industry Community, of the Identifiers Working Group of the BASIC Rights Committee, and of the EDItEUR Metadata Committee. Since 1998 He has been President of Albert Simmonds Development, an international consultancy.

Dr. Simmonds received his Ed. D. and M. A. Degrees from University of Memphis, and earned his B. A. from Amherst.
