Huntsville, AL. June 30th, 1999 Book Systems Incorporated, an innovative developer of library automation solutions, is pleased to announce the release of eZcat Pro. EZcat Pro is a powerful Z39.50 Internet cataloging tool that allows users to retrieve free USMARC records from the Library of Congress and from over 300 major universities and public libraries. Search multiple libraries simultaneously using various searching methods such as author's name, title, ISBN/LCCN, subject heading, or summary keywords. With eZcat Pro users can now perform full USMARC editing, including adding and removing tags, prior to saving the record for their library automation program. eZcat Pro is fully compatible with any library automation program that supports USMARC format. Users of Book Systems' Concourse for Windows 95/98/NT, receive an immediate benefit of being able to drop the USMARC records directly to the cataloging screen for increased speed and ease-of-use.

eZcat Pro gives you the power to enhance existing bibliographic records with notes, summaries, and subjects while keeping local holdings information intact. When you specify fields your library doesn't need, eZcat Pro's cleaning preferences automatically remove them from the record. Catalog books, videos, audio, and more… perform your own retrospective conversion.

"Why pay for an outrageous subscription to an on-line database, or a fee for each record you download?" commented Book Systems President, Mark Jones. "eZcat Pro is a simple, one-time purchase that pays you back in time saved each day you use it.

Unlike CD-ROMs, on-line databases provide dynamic access to the most current information, which is continuously being updated. You get current, free, and unlimited records from the Internet with just a few keystrokes using eZcat Pro."

Developed by Book Systems, Inc., eZcat Pro is a one-of-a-kind Internet cataloging solution. Using multi-threaded technology, eZcat Pro can simultaneously search throughout multiple connected Z39.50 servers instantly and thoroughly. Easy to read indicators let you know what's happening with your search results. If you lose your connection to a particular server, eZcat Pro changes its indicator from "green" to "red" without halting its search throughout the other connected servers.

EZcat pro is a client-based system designed to run on 100% compatible PC processor running Windows 95, 98 or Windows NT Workstation 4.0. It requires an Internet connection that is dial-up, ISDN, or T1 or greater.
