Lana Porter, president and CEO of epixtech, inc. announced May 18, 2000 that Rick Lawhun will take the reins as the new Chief Operations Officer. "Having Rick in this position will allow the company to have senior focus on the daily operations of the business. It will also permit me to be focused on the strategic direction of the company working with the customers and other industry leaders to help shape a new future for our customers and the library industry." said Porter.
Lawhun has worked for Ameritech for the past 25 years and has an extensive background in finance and systems development. He has served as vice president of international operations at epixtech, and most recently was vice president of finance and CFO.
As chief operations officer, Lawhun will focus on corporate-wide operating issues that affect epixtech's ability to effectively answer customer's needs, and to respond to the changing technological environment.
