epixtech, inc., the leader in automated library systems, and Bibliostat.com, formerly Management Dynamics, a company at the forefront of library data management software, joined forces earlier this month to forge a joint marketing agreement. As part of the agreement, epixtech will provide technical resources to Bibliostat.com to integrate their products with epixtech's Dynix/Horizon/Sunrise products.
epixtech's library automation software includes programs that have been the industry standards for many years, such as Dynix, and newly introduced programs that are enhancing and improving library automation, as is the case with Horizon and Sunrise. epixtech also has several programs that interface with Dynix and Horizon to benefit specific library groups.
Bibliostat.com's software allows users to access and manipulate library-specific databases and allows for simple, yet powerful statistical analysis of the data. The information generated by Bibliostat.com's reports can help libraries compare their collections and operations against similar libraries. They can then be used to justify budget increases, facilitate collection development, and to track trends by a number of variables.
According to Bibliostat.com's Chief Operating Officer, Joel Sybrowsky, "The joint marketing agreement between Bibliostat.com and epixtech is a perfect union. Bibliostat.com needs the automation systems that epixtech has. Bibliostat.com is able to put the data we collect in an optimal, useable format, which epixtech's customers need. We can mix and match different automation systems and we can broker data between organizations and companies. We are able to take a Dynix or Horizon database and match it with commercial or non-commercial databases. Dynix and Horizon customers want this service. In essence epixtech and Bibliostat.com will become information partners. Bibliostat.com has the information and epixtech has the vehicle to market the information."
