CyberTools is committed to supporting and enhancing LIS. Mark Roux, President of CyberTools, states: "LIS is a fundamentally sound legacy application. CyberTools' expertise is in applying web, GUI, and SQL technology to such applications. This is a good fit: LIS will become a showcase web-GUI-client/server application, thus allowing us to further penetrate the medical library market, broaden LIS' market to other journal-based libraries, and eventually, address the information needs of the corporate sector. Since 1986, CyberTools has built its business on long-term customer relationships. We now aim to provide value to LIS users in response to their years of recognized commitment to LIS." Accordingly, as of March 1, 1998, CyberTools will assume responsibility for LIS maintenance and updates.
