McHENRY, ILLINOIS -- September 14, 1994 -- Follett Software Company's Educational Services Department has named three Regional Trainers to better service the growing number of customers who request product and customized training. The new Regional Trainers are Larry Gilbert (Texas), Judy Wagers (Pennsylvania), and Warren Wood (California).
The Regional Trainers provide general application instruction for Follett products. In addition, they work with Follett's independent trainers across the nation. They also participate in the development of training outlines, materials and handouts.
The Educational Services Department will adapt the current offerings of both hands-on and classroom-style training to integrate the Regional Trainers' capabilities.
"The Educational Services Department now has the flexibility to create trainings that are more customized to the needs of the customer," says Charles (Chuck) R. Follett, Jr., president of the 275-person, McHenry, Illinois based Follett Software Company.
Regional Trainer Judy Wagers knows the issues confronting educators and librarians quite well, having worked in the field for 30 years. She believes in tailoring her training to the user's situation. "I never report to a site and go 1-2-3 according to a manual. Every customer is different. I customize everything I do, down to the vocabulary," she says.
Customers at any phase in the library automation process can consult with Regional Trainers on group application training; Union Catalog installation and training; installation of Follett Software products; and customized automation training, which is now essentially available on demand. Regional Trainers are also able to provide insight on industry--specific topics such as MARC.
"Follett is committed to making the automation of your library effortless and painless," Chuck Follett states.
The Regional Trainers are full-time Follett employees. Like the entire expert Follett trainer team, approximately 95 percent of whom are degreed librarians or computer specialists, the Regional Trainers themselves undergo extensive training to become certified to assist Follett customers.
With the introduction of the Regional Trainers, more customers can receive customized training on Follett products including Circulation Plus, Catalog Plus, Textbook Plus, and other Follett library automation products.
