McHENRY, ILLINOIS -- June 24, 1994 -- Follett Software Company is now offering a video to introduce its new Unison software line to customers. The Unison Upgrade Video is designed to assist customers who are converting or upgrading to the new Unison product design. The goal of the video is to educate customers about the new features and functionality changes within the Unison Circulation Plus and Catalog Plus products, and to help customers understand the next level in their automation process. The video contains information on installation and set-up and on how to use new features within the products. The video is not intended to replace the Follett product training or the product manuals, which have been redesigned based upon customer input. Rather the video is intended to enhance both, serving as the first level of training.

The Unison Upgrade Video allows customers to visually see the concept of Unison and understand the conversion process. The forty-two minute tape can be stopped for discussion if a question arises, and resumed once the question is answered. Also, it can be kept in a convenient place for future reference. Priced at $49.95, the Unison Upgrade Video is an affordable way for customers to get up and running and become familiar with the new products before receiving formal training.

Follett's new Unison product design features new releases of Follett's most widely-used software, including Circulation Plus library circulation management software; Catalog Plus on-line public access catalog software; and Textbook Plus textbook distribution management software. The new design allows for each of Follett's core products to operate together in any combination or function independently as stand-alone units.

Add-on products under the Unison product design include MacSearch Plus Station catalog searching software that enables MS-DOS fileservers to be accessed from Macintosh workstation computers in networked schools and libraries; Alliance Plus application software and its three USMARC database options (enhanced LC data, pre-1968 MARC data and audio-visual MARC data); and the PHD+ II portable handheld barcode scanning device.

Consumers may write Follett Software Company, 809 N. Front Street, McHenry, Illinois, 60050-5589, or call toll-free at (800) 323-3397 to order the Unison Upgrade Video or for more information about Follett's new Unison product design.
