(Carlsbad, CA - January 23, 1997) - Electronic Online Systems (EOS) International announced today that Joe Matthews has joined the company as the new Vice President of Sales.
Joe Matthews brings to EOS International more than twenty years of experience in the library industry. As President of his own consulting firm in which he founded in 1976, Joe provided consulting services to local governments, libraries, and vendors. As a consultant, Joe completed a number of interesting assignments including: evaluations of automated library systems; determining the feasibility of automated library systems and exploring Interlibrary Loan and resource sharing, as well as the preparation of Request for Proposals for over 100 libraries.
Joe also has extensive experience in the management and sales and marketing activities of library automation companies. He's held positions at MARCorp, Inc., Data Research Associates, Inc., Geac Computers, and Inlex, Inc.

Joe Matthews is an active member of the American Library Association, the American Society for Information Science, and the National Information Standards Organization (NISO). An accomplished communicator, Joe has conducted numerous workshops on technology and technology planning for libraries. He has been a speaker and seminar instructor for Continuing Education classes at University and Library Association meetings. He is also currently the Chairman of the Library Commission for the Folsom Public Library.
Joe received his bachelors degree in Business Administration from California State University, Long Beach and his MBA from the University of California, Irvine.
