(Carlsbad, CA - October 27, 1997) - Electronic Online Systems (EOS) International announced today that Mark Patterson has been appointed Executive Vice President of International Operations. Other new EOS appointments include Tim Twine, who has been named the Managing Director of the EOS European Headquarters office in London, and Tony Leow, the Managing Director of the EOS Asia-Pacific Headquarters office in Singapore.
Mark Patterson has been with EOS International since 1983 when, as a magna aim laude graduate from the University of California at Davis, he first joined the company as a sales associate. In 1989, he was appointed to the Board of Directors as Secretary and promoted to Vice President, Sales & Marketing. Then, in 1996, Mark was named the Managing Director of the EOS European headquarters office and relocated to London, UK. He has since returned to the EOS corporate headquarters office in Carlsbad and now oversees EOS International's international offices, as well as global Marketing.
Mark appointed Tim Twine as his replacement Managing Director of EOS London upon his departure in August 1997. Tim has been with EOS International since 1994 when he was recruited from an EOS customer site at Hammersmith and West London College Library. There he served as Computer Services Librarian where he was largely responsible for the successful implementation of EQS (then Data Trek) software at that library. Since then, Tim has filled a number of roles at EOS, including technical support and training. In 1995, he was appointed General Manager of Data Trek's UK headquarters in Colchester. When Data Trek acquired IME in 1996, Tim and his staff moved to the London office, where he was appointed Manager of Customer Services for the newly combined company of EOS International, London. Tim has a BA with honors from the University of Manchester, as well as a diploma in Information and Library studies from the University of Strathclyde.
Tony Leow has recently been named the Managing Director of EOS International's Asia-Pacific headquarters office in Singapore. Tony has been with EQS since 1995 as its Asia-Pacific Business Development Manager where he was responsible for exploring market opportunities in the developing nations of the region. Before joining EOS, Tony was the Business Development Manager for EOS International's sister company, The Faxon Company, and their Asia-Pacific regional office. He also established Faxon's Southeast Asia office where he held the position of General Manager until 1993. Tony graduated with honors from Atlantic Union College in Massachusetts, USA. He received a Master in Library & Information Science degree from Indiana University in Bloomington, IN, as well as a Masters degree in Business Administration from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst.
