Huntsville, Alabama SIRSI Corporation is pleased to announce that its its Scientific And Technical Information Library Automation System (STILAS) will be installed at the Phillips Laboratory Research Library located at Hanscom Air Force Base, Massachusetts. The system was purchased through GSA Contract GSOOK-9SAGS-5695.
STILAS will be installed on an IBM RISC System/6000 Model 340 host computer. In addition to the bibliographic and inventory control module, Phillips has licensed the acquisitions module, circulation module, enhanced public access module, serials control module, enhanced researchers access, multiuser gateway, and Sirsi's intelligent interfaces to DIALOG, DROLS, OCLC EPIC, and STILAS. The system will be used to download DTIC records onto the library's database and access various government databases and library catalogs. Using the Sirsi Intelligent Interfaces, the patrons at Phillips will be able to access outside databases using Sirsi search commands, eliminating the need to learn different search protocols.
