Huntsville, AL (January 23, 1997) - Sirsi Corporation announced today the license of UNICORN to the Memphis Association of Independent Schools Library Consortium (MAISLIC) in Memphis, Tennessee. The consortium is comprised of five private academies: Hutchison School, Lausanne Collegiate School, Memphis University School, St. Agnes Academy/St. Domine School, and St. Mary's Episcopal School.
In 1980 several independent schools combined to form the Memphis Area Independent Schools Library Information Consortium. Having a collective holding of approximately 100,000 titles, the consortium was developed to aid the schools with library automation, networking all five school campuses, and providing internet access for all classrooms. In 1994 the schools began planning the networking of the five campuses and chose UNICORN to automate the library and provide sharing of the common on-line public access catalog. The consortium will install UNICORN on an HP D200.
