's-Hertogenbosch, 12-5-1999 - After using the Vubis Original system for several years, the Eindhoven Public Library is changing to Vubis 4 Windows.
For over 10 years the Eindhoven Public Library collaborated with The Technical University of Eindhoven who were responsible for the support and development of the original VUBIS system. However, from the 1st of July the Eindhoven Public Library will be a Geac customer, replacing Vubis Original with Geac's new graphical product, Vubis 4 Windows.
Eindhoven Public Library has existed since November 15th, 1915. On that day the Roman Catholic Public Library 'Sint Catharaina' opened with fifteen members. On November 20th 1915 the bishop dedicated the library and on January 10th 1916 it received royal approval, which is taken as the official date of foundation of the current library.
Jos Gevers, Project Manager for Eindhoven Public Library said: "After years of experience with Vubis Original we are happy that we can say we are switching to Vubis 4 Windows. Both staff and userws are fully familiar with Vubis. We are certain to make a big step ahead with Vubis 4 Windows and to be ready for the new millennium. On top of that we fully trust on in Geac to have the expertise and the people to lead this big job task well."
Henk Das, Managing Director of Eindhoven Public Library said: "Geac's years of knowledge and experience have given us the ultimate reason to choose Vubis 4 Windows. Excellent experiences with Vubis Original played an important role in our considerations."
