Westborough, MA. Geac Computers, Inc. announces the next release of their Windows-based client modules, GeoPac 3.0 and GeoCat 3.0. These modules are compatible with the ADVANCE and PLUS UNIX system-based library automation systems, and simplify critical library functions for both patrons and staff.
GeoPac, a public access research workstation, was designed to expand basic search and retrieval functions of local and remote bibliographic and authority databases through Z39.50 compliant software. GeoPac's setup parameters provide flexibility for each workstation to access library-defined databases and display results.
GeoCat, a flexible cataloging workstation, utilizes a familiar graphical user interface to improve the efficiency of a labor-intensive library operation.
