NRC goes live with Geac ADVANCE

Abstract: The Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) has recently gone live on the ADVANCE Integrated Library System. NRC was using a public domain version of an integrated library system since 1983. "Geac has done a great job migrating our library from our first generation system to ADVANCE," stated Eileen Chen, Director of the NRC Library. NRC is using Sun servers, purchased through Geac's corporate reseller agreement. Geac maintains a close educational partnership and has a worldwide reseller agreement directly with Sun.

NRC is one of a growing number of libraries that has implemented ADVANCE as their automated library system. The ADVANCE system offers state-of-the-art search and retrieval software combined with sophisticated bibliographic and authority cataloging modules.
