Announcing the "overwhelming success" of an extensive searchprocess, Gaylord Bros. President Ron Beckman today introduced former Data Research Associates(DRA) executive Michael K. Skiles as the newly-appointed Division President of Gaylord Information Systems (GIS), a leading distributor of library automation products, software, and services.
"Our search process was intentionally deliberate," said Beckman, "We are always exhorting potential customers to refuse to settle for 'second best.' In our search for a Division President, we took our own advice, and waited for the candidate who perfectly matched our plans for company development. Gaylord is very pleased to have found him, and very excited that he has chosen to accept our offer."
Since earning his Masters degree in International Management from American Graduate School of International Management, Skiles has spent 30 years in the field of computer software, and has held a series of executive positions with prominent national companies, culminating in his most recent position as Vice President of Sales and Customer Service for DRA.
At GIS, Skiles will be responsible for continuing division growth and development in existing and future market segments, and for providing leadership to Marketing and Sales, Customer Support, Research and Development, and all other business operations.
"This is a great opportunity to help lead the growth of a company that has shown terrific vision and progress," said Skiles, "Gaylord has built an outstanding reputation and an articulated vision I can bring the experience that comes from 30 years in the software business, and, together, we can continue the development well into the next century."
Skiles will officially assume his new position on March 25, at Gaylord's corporate headquarters in Syracuse, New York.
Gaylord Information Systems provides automated library systems with complete modules for networking, acquisitions, serials control, cataloging, online public access, circulation control and journal citations.
