Auto-Graphics positions company for aggressive growth: company appoints new senior management team

POMONA, Calif., December 20, 1995 -- Auto-Graphics Inc., a leading supplier of information and database resource systems, today strengthened its Library Services strategic charter by restructuring its internal management team. Daniel E. Luebben, Vice President of Library Operations and Controller, has been promoted to the post of Vice President and Chief Financial Officer, and William Kliss, Vice President Sales and Marketing, promoted to Vice President and General Manager of the Library Services division. Additionally, Joe Coleman has joined the company as Product Manager for Library Systems.

"These new promotions signify Auto-Graphics growth and the need for upper-level management that can take the company to the next level," said Robert Cope, president and CEO. "Dan and Bill have done outstanding jobs of building Auto-Graphics Library sales and operations, and have demonstrated their ability to continue this momentum."

Daniel Luebben has been promoted to vice president and chief financial officer for Auto-Graphics, a newly created position responsible for all corporate financial management and planning. Previously Luebben held the position of vice president of Library operations and controller. Luebben, a five year Auto-Graphics veteran, will retain his responsibilities for finance, accounting and human resources, while directing his expertise to supporting the financial aspects of Auto-Graphics' planned growth.

William Kliss has been promoted to vice president and general manager of Library Services division from vice president of Library sales and marketing. In his first year at Auto-Graphics, Kliss has successfully extended the Library division's sales into the online services delivered via the Internet. This new Impact/ONLINE product line will fuel major growth in 1996, as well as protecting the automation investment of existing customers by providing them with a product upgrade path.

In his new role, Kliss will immediately assume responsibility of all Library operations, while retaining his sales and marketing responsibilities. Kliss brings with him 15 years of sales and operations experience from Scan-Optics, Inc., a Connecticut-based supplier of optical scanners, data entry and microcomputer systems, where he held the position of vice president of Irvine, Calif. operations.

Joe Coleman has been hired as product manager for library systems for the Library Services Division. Prior to being hired at Auto-Graphics, Coleman was with Scan-Optics, Inc. for fourteen years. As director of product management, Coleman was responsible for all product management and product marketing functions including negotiating third-party funding and multi-year agreements, as well as managing the distribution and sales force teams.

In his new position at Auto-Graphics, Coleman will be responsible for the day-to-day management of product development, including determining pricing and marketing of the products.
