PROVO, Utah; January 20, 1999-- Ameritech Library Services welcomes Kate Noerr as vice president of marketing and sales. Noerr, an industry veteran of 17 years, will lead the international sales and marketing departments.

Noerr formerly was the director of sales and marketing for Geac Computers' library division. Prior to Geac, Noerr was the founder of Information Management and Engineering Ltd. (IME), a library automation company, which she started in 1982 in the United Kingdom, grew successfully within Europe and expanded to the United States and Singapore. IME was sold in 1996 and merged with Data Trek to become EOS International.
Noerr also has considerable experience in academia. She was an adjunct professor at the UCLA Graduate School of Information Science for two years and lectured at the University of Maryland Graduate Library School for three years.
Noerr has a bachelor's degree from Brown University and a master's degree in library science from the University of Maryland. She is the author of more than fifty articles and is a member of several professional associations, including the American Library Association, the American Society for Information Science, the British Computer Society and the Association for Computing Machinery.
