AUSTIN, TX, August 13, 1999 - Nichols Advanced Technologies, a division of Sagebrush Corporation and developer of the Athena library automation system, announced today that it has changed its name to Sagebrush Technologies.

This change coincides with a Sagebrush Corporation initiative to capitalize on the strengths of the various Sagebrush divisions and bring them together under the Sagebrush umbrella. The divisions are joining forces to better serve their public library and K-12 customers with products that improve the way libraries run. The company intends to expand to help schools and school districts better manage their education resources and materials, including those inside the school, outside the school, and on the Internet.

D. Bruce Butler, president of Sagebrush Technologies, said "Changing our name to Sagebrush Technologies reflects the corporation's commitment to strengthening the relationship between the divisions and to strengthening the corporation as a whole. Together the divisions have a tremendous amount to offer the education market. By streamlining under one name, we are able to convey this strength."

In addition to Sagebrush Technologies, the Sagebrush Corporation divisions include Sagebrush Learning Resources, distributors of Econo-Clad Books, reading program software, and other education materials; and Sagebrush Library Services, providers of cataloging, processing, and publisher services to publishers and distributors.

Sagebrush Technologies has been producing library automation solutions for over 15 years. Their award-winning Athena library automation system received the highest rating in the latest review of library automation systems in the American Library Association's Library Technology Reports (L.T.R.). Athena provides circulation, searching, cataloging, Internet solution options, cross-platform capabilities (Windows, Macintosh, and DOS), and related functions for large and small public, academic, corporate, and school libraries and school districts.

Sagebrush Technologies is based in Austin, Texas with additional offices in Edmonton, Alberta and La Crosse, Wisconsin. Sagebrush Technologies provides powerful, easy-to-use library solutions. Sagebrush's library automation software leads the industry and is installed in more than 6,000 libraries throughout the world.
