Abstract: Ex Libris announced that the University of Nottingham has signed a contract for the installation of the latest version of ALEPH 500.

Nottingham, July 25th 1999. Ex Libris(UK) Ltd announced today that the University of Nottingham has signed a contract for the installation of the latest version of ALEPH 500.

The arrival of ALEPH facilities for students and researchers will add to the attractions of the University, which is currently celebrating its 50th year. Nottingham ranks in the UK's top four for graduate recruitment and is well-known both for the quality of its teaching and as a world-class centre of research excellence.

ALEPH will be implemented over a 12 month period across all the 9 library sites, which serve a community of 22,000 students and 1,800 academic and research staff. The 200 library staff will use the system to manage the collections of more than a million items, and also to give users sophisticated access to information resources on the Internet.

Robert Oldroyd, Director of Library Services, said: "We are impressed not only by ALEPH's comprehensive existing functionality, but by the speed and energy with which Ex Libris (UK) Ltd are responding to our requirements and those of the UK Higher Education sector generally."
