Abstract: The Government Publications Section of the University of Toronto Library has recently instituted a new, computer-aided method of document processing. A dual format is being used: a subset of MARC and the Ontario Universities'' Library Cooperative System''s Cooperative Documents Project format (CODOC). Reasons for opting for CODOC are discussed. A tag-by-tag comparison of the two formats is presented. The study closes with a description of the practical application and products of the system.
