Emeryville, CA. Innovative announced today the successful implementation of the Sierra Item Status API at Robbins Library in Arlington, Massachusetts. The integration between Sierra and RFID technology from D-Tech International USA allows patrons to check in, check out, and renew RFID-tagged items with Innovative's Express Lane self-check. Robbins Library patrons can also process items from other members of the Minuteman Library Network in the same transaction as local books and media.

"We are excited to partner with Innovative to provide fast and accurate RFID scanning to their customer libraries," says Emmett Erwin, Vice President and General Manager of D-Tech. "Arlington library staff were able to start using D-Tech's RFID system right away because minimal training is required. By using the Item Status API to integrate our technologies, we help provide an added convenience to patrons that will encourage them to keep coming back to their library."

"This new integration between Sierra and D-Tech has created a better experience for library users, which is essential to libraries," says Hilary Newman, Vice President of Library Success. "With Sierra's open architecture, libraries have greater choice and the ability to quickly implement the exact solution they need."
