March 19, 2015 -- Emeryville, CA. Innovative announced today that Palo Alto City Library (PACL) has selected the Sierra Library Services Platform. The current collection size is 300,000 physical items and over 60,000 in electronic holdings. PACL circulates 1.4 million items annually and will be migrating from a Horizon system provided by SirsiDynix.

"As the entire City of Palo Alto moves to a 'Cloud-first' strategy for information technology, Sierra offered the Library a secure environment to help us look to the future," says Library Director Monique le Conge Ziesenhenne. "As a long-time LINK+ partner, migrating to Sierra will make this popular service even easier for both customers and staff to use. Overall, we were pleased with the competitive pricing, enhanced features, and customer interactivity that Innovative offered as a solution. Because we have newly renovated facilities, a new platform will further develop our user experience and engagement with the library."

"Innovative is proud to continue its partnership with Palo Alto City Library and the company will now provide a comprehensive solution that enables efficient operations and dynamic user services," says Bill Schickling, SVP of Global Marketing. "With Innovative as a partner, PACL is positioned to take advantage of emerging technologies well into the future."

The City has renovated all five libraries since the early 2000's, providing the community with new programming rooms and state of the art facilities.
