DENVER (November 20, 2014) - The Library Corporation announced today that the lyndaLibrary suite of online learning resources from lynda.com is now SIP2-certified for the CARL.X Integrated Library System. CARL.X libraries that have purchased a subscription to lyndaLibrary's comprehensive collection of web-based training courses will now be able to offer their communities a full and seamless integration experience. Library patrons can link to the vast array of educational videos directly through CARL.X's LS2 PAC online catalog in the comfort of their own home, or anywhere with an internet connection.
TLC has long demonstrated its commitment to ensuring successful integration projects with third-party vendors using the standard interchange protocol (SIP), version 2, to improve the user experience for its library customers and their patrons. The work completed with lynda.com is no exception. "An important goal of TLC is to bring leading technologies to our libraries and their communities. Our straightforward process for certifying third-party functionality, using the SIP2 standard with CARL.X for example, allows us to build on the feedback we receive over the course of testing. This leads to product improvements for not only TLC, but for our third-party partners," shared Lorrie Ann Butler, Director of Product Strategy and Customer Relations for TLC's CARL product line. Mike Maloco, Manager of Sales and Partner Support for lynda.com agrees. "The access that TLC extended to both their internal SIP2 testing environment and subject matter experts allowed us to complete a smooth integration project between lyndaLibrary and CARL.X. The quick turn-around for testing access, and the thorough follow-up on our questions and feedback were an asset, and will allow CARL.X libraries to benefit from our course offerings as soon as they are ready. We look forward to working more with both TLC and their library communities."
