Abstract: New York Public Library and San Francisco Public Library are now live on the Sierra Library Services Platform, each upgrading from the Millennium ILS. San Francisco Public Library first became a customer in 2002 followed by New York Public Library in 2008.

Emeryville, CA. New York Public Library (NY) and San Francisco Public Library (CA) are now live on the Sierra Library Services Platform, each upgrading from the Millennium ILS. San Francisco Public Library (SFPL) first became a customer in 2002 followed by New York Public Library (NYPL) in 2008.

"We are honored that NYPL and SFPL have extended their long-term relationships with us and are now live on Sierra," says Marina Keating, VP of Professional Services. "These extensive implementations are just two of eight for the Innovative team in a one-week period, which demonstrates that Innovative's service team can create a smooth migration experience for customers no matter what size their library. Sierra will provide these libraries with unmatched functionality and workflows for staff, the ability to deal with a high number of transactions each day, and the open architecture to apply new technology services as time goes on."

"The New York Public Library serves a diverse community - scholars and students of all ages around the world who have relied on NYPL's collection of materials," said Peter Brantley, Director of Digital Library Applications at NYPL. "Working with Innovative we were able to make the transition to Sierra, creating a seamless and flexible user experience, which is essential for expanding the accessibility of the Library's collections."

"The San Francisco Public library strives to implement technology that supports equal access to information, knowledge, and independent learning for our diverse community," says City Librarian Luis Herrera. "We have invested in Innovative as our technology partner for over a decade and are pleased with the level of service we have received throughout the years and for the recent migration. Moving from our previous Innovative ILS to Sierra will help us keep pace with technology changes as time goes on and continue to provide first-rate service to our users."
