DENVER (September 15, 2014) – The Metropolitan Library System (MLS) of Oklahoma City, introduced the CARL.X ILS live to their community and staff on September 2nd. MLS selected TLC's CARL.X for their library automation needs after previously using a system that had been developed inhouse.

Anne Fischer, the Deputy Executive Director for Technology at MLS shared, "After surveying the ILS marketplace, TLC was the clear choice because of the configurability of CARL.X and their strong focus on partnerships." This sentiment was echoed throughout the MLS community as staff The breadth and depth of the CARL.X system combined with customized solutions developed with MLS, confirmed TLC to be a partner who can help maintain the existing workflows and services of a migrating library, as well as allow for growth into the future. This established business model of working together with their library customers continues to strengthen the core product and benefits the entire CARL.X user community.

In addition to the open and powerful staff interfaces, MLS was eager to adopt the full suite of TLC's next generation public access LS2 Products for CARL.X. LS2 PAC is designed with input from the CARL.X user community of large, urban public libraries and MLS looks forward to participating in this ongoing collaboration. After migrating to CARL.X, Oklahoma City residents were quick to praise MLS as a library system that continues to get 'better and better.' Positive feedback was shared with the library about their website redesign, which takes advantage of the CARL.X API offerings, along with the introduction of LS2 PAC, TLC's versatile and cutting edge technology that offers many user driven services and an intuitive mobile experience.

"We are very proud of the partnerships we have built with our library customers and welcome the Metropolitan Library System into our TLC ‘family'. We know the CARL.X system has the flexibility to meet the needs of large public libraries and the foundation to adjust to their needs on an ongoing basis," said Paul Leppert, TLC Denver's Managing Director. "As MLS has recognized, that partnership is unique in the ILS community and allows TLC to make CARL.X the best ILS available."

The Metropolitan Library System is composed of 14 full-service and 5 extension libraries throughout the Oklahoma County community, serving over 370,000 patrons and circulating more than 6.5 million items annually. For more information on MLS, visit www.metrolibrary.org.
