Abstract: In April 2011 Bukkyo Universtiy Library has become the very first library in Japan to implement the "Summon" - a powerful unified search tool for access and discovery of electronic resources. Summon is designed to be used with OPAC, together with the link resolver to maximize its performance as an electronic resources discovery tool. However, there are still a few minor interoperability problems that are yet to be resolved, e.g., the communication protocols and the catalogue records deletion function - between Summon and OPAC with the Japanese domestic record standards. Link resolvers are most important for Summon, because they are able to build the hybrid Library by creating the "hybrid" outbound links from Summon - to link up between the electric full-text articles/contents and the printed book and serials titles under OPAC.
