Abstract: OCLC PICA is pleased to announce the appointment of Dr. R. van Charldorp MBA as Managing Director of OCLC PICA per 16 April 2002.


OCLC PICA is pleased to announce the appointment of Dr. R. van Charldorp MBA as Managing Director of OCLC PICA per 16 April 2002.

Rein van Charldorp (49) was born in Indonesia and has Dutch nationality. He was educated at Leiden University (M.Sc. in Chemistry and Ph.D in Science) and Nijenrode University in the Netherlands/Wharton School of Business, University of Philadelphia, USA (MBA). His professional experience has been with Reed Elsevier where he has worked in various countries and jobs, on business and scientific aspects.

"Rein van Charldorp has a high profile with a broad background of roles, jobs and experience with mergers and acquisitions in different countries," says Jay Jordan, President and Chief Executive Officer of OCLC Inc. "I am confident that he will bring leadership to OCLC PICA and that he will have the vision and experience to position OCLC PICA in Europe and play a prominent role in OCLC's vision of being a global cooperative."

Rein van Charldorp is eager to start his new job at OCLC PICA. "I am looking forward to an exciting time for OCLC PICA and European libraries.
